Mission Statement

The Epsilon Iota Chapter of Theta Chi focuses on recruiting leaders among scholars, athletes, and well-rounded men to continue its long tradition of excellence. Theta Chi was founded on the principle of friendship through the mutual assistance of every member, Theta Chi aims to provide its members with an enjoyable and fulfilling collegiate experience that also prepares them for rewarding, successful lives after graduation.

What we look for:

  • A Man that exemplifies the 3 virtues stated in our Creed: Truth, Temperance, and Tolerance
  • A Leader in all aspects of his life
  • Ambitious Purposes and Goals
  • A Rigorous Curriculum
  • Possession of Good Morals
  • A High Sense of Honor

Once a potential member has offered these outstanding qualities to us and proves worthy of Brotherhood, Theta Chi offers countless opportunities in return for one to improve himself as a brother while at East Carolina University and for the remainder of his life. For men who meet these standards, the Epsilon Iota Chapter quickly offers them the opportunity to become involved in numerous student organizations and social events that shape and lead campus life.

All of this while also understanding the importance of building a solid academic record for use in starting a career after graduation. We value the opportunity to enjoy weekly social events that are an integral aspect of the thriving fraternity and sorority scene at East Carolina University. Big events to look for each year are “Rattlesnake Roundup” and “Beachfest”, which are philanthropic Western and Beach themed events that support the USO.
